Carbon is the 2017 Oxford Brookes Fine Art Degree Show, representing the achievements of 42 students over the last 3-5 years. Although not a retrospective, Carbon represents everything we have learnt and practiced during our time at Oxford Brookes University.
Covering a breadth of themes and contemporary issues, Carbon celebrates the artists we have become during our time as fine art students. Encompassing artworks in mediums as diverse as film, animation, sculpture, painting, performance and the art of Japanese dorodango, this exhibition represents an incredibly multi-faceted group of fledgling artists. Under the collective name of Artists of the House Brookes, we have taken a journey together that culminated on May 12th, 2017, when Carbon opens its doors to the public in Oxford.
Now the challenge is to move the show to London to take part in a group show at The Old Truman Brewery, Free Range. A task so big in daunting and with only two weeks before it is open to the public it is all systems go.
Now, we invite you to join us for the final chapter of our journey to becoming exhibiting artists. By supporting us, you provide us with essential financial means to erect what we hope will be another amazing display of Carbon, and show off our enormous tallent to the London art community.
We are extremely grateful for any support you can offer us. As a thank you, we have various rewards to dish out; please donate as generously as you are able to, and we invite you to share this page with your friends, too. Your support really makes a difference, and there aren't enough character spaces in this box to put into words how much that assistance means to us.
Artists of the House Brookes look forward to sharing with you not only the tiered rewards on offer, but also one of the most important moments in our lives so far. Thank you for being a part of Carbon - we hope to see you in in July!
Free Range Art Week opens 06-11 July, 2017.
