I am a mature student looking for funding to assist me to undertake my post graduate BPTC course. I need this course to become a Barrister.
I am 38 years old, married and have 3 beautiful children (and I am disabled). I was diagnosed with degenerative bone disease and Fybromyalgia 7 years ago, and have struggled to gain employment because of my limitations. I decided that I did not want to rely on benefits and just become another statistic, I wanted to be useful and contribute to society. I decided that I wanted to undertake a law degree, and as such applied and was successful in being accepted onto the course. I didnt know if I would manage a full time course. i only knew that if I didnt try, I would never succeed. As it turned out i am doing quite well, I am not using the wheelchair provide for me (having been told that I should be using it by now) and am enjoying my life. I am in daily pain and some days i can only just about function, I take the medication and I battle on as best as I can. The simple truth is that I believe that I have a lot to offer, that I am more than my disability. I want to succeed and show my children that disability is just a hurdle to overcome.
I hope that you fel able to help me reach my goal of undertaking the BPTC. I am not lazy and wish I could work my way through it, the honest answer is that I simply cannot. I have one chance of getting the qualifications I need to become a qualified lawyer, and I am not well enough to do both at this time. Thabnk you for taking the time to read my story. Thanks Sara
