Help for refugees in Lesvos. I am a doctor working for the NHS My grandad was a refugee from Smyrna (known as Izmir) in 1922. He got to a greek island on a much safer boat than the ones smagglers put refugees on and this was 93 years ago. They were running for their life as it is happening today. The situation on Lesvos, as well as many other islands, is worsened with many lives being lost each day due to worsening of weather conditions and many drowning or dying from hypothermia. I will be flying out to Lesvos on the 25th November and hope to be able to provide with refugees whatever help I can, medical aid, dry clothes, food and water.
I would appreciate if you could help with as little or as much as you can to provide them with their basic needs. All money will be used for medical supplies, rain ponchos, blankets etc. Just think, how desperate would you have to be to put yourself and your family on a rubber boat to get away from your home country?
