I am 35 year old mother of an autistic child with a passion for swimming and I need your help!

There is a massive shortage of qualified swimming teachers in the Hull and East Riding area and finding one with the experience of autism and all of its little quirks is even harder.

I want to train to become a swimming instructor and help to fill that gap.

I have tried sending my lad to swimming lessons and he was not able to cope with the group aspect of it or fully understand the verbal communication that he was been given, which resulted in him becoming stressed and having to be withdrawn from the lessons.

I want to help stop this happening to other parent, our kids love the water and they deserve to be safe just like everyone else.

To do this I need to complete the ASA Level 1 and Level 2 swimming courses along with the Autism and Sport course which is provided by the National Autistic Society.
