Hello everyone, we're Transition Heathrow, a grassroots organisation based in the village of Sipson, opposing a 3rd runway at Heathrow Airport and promoting a way of life that puts the environment and community first. Our home, Grow Heathrow, is based on just over 4 acres of formerly derelict market garden, and we've been here 7.5 years.

Unfortunately, the company who own the land we occupy (left unloved and flytipped for years) took us to court back in April, and were awarded possession of the land with 14 days to implement. Not one to go down without a fight, the citizens of Grow Heathrow put in a legal appeal at a cost of around £500, and a halt was called on eviction proceedings.

However, our long legal history (in and out of court, submitting further evidence over a 2 year period, paying to submit an appeal), has left a rather large dent in our community bank balance, and the lack of funds is impacting future plans for the project, including building a new zero-carbon roundhouse and switching all our composting over to an anaerobic system. In addition, this year's spring drought looks set to leave our community garden with a huge end of summer water bill, as our rain collection tanks ran dry early and much of our growing is under cover.

This is where you come in! Please show your support for our ongoing efforts to educate the public, protect habitat, grow food, and defend the Heathrow Villages against the threat of airport expansion. Every donation, no matter how small, has the chance to make a real difference, especially if you share the campaign with other like-minded people.

As a BONUS every person who backs £25 or more, brings proof and comes to our Harvest Festival on Saturday 9th September will receive a goody bag featuring a jar of beautiful homemade jam (and other goodies!) as a special thank you.
