Challenges Worldwide is a pioneering social enterprise based in Edinburgh, Scotland. We believe that by supporting the development of fair and inclusive local economies we can help alleviate poverty and bring a lasting positive impact to communities in low- and middle-income countries. We support entrepreneurs and enterprises to strengthen their skills and abilities, helping them grow businesses that generate income, sustainable economic growth and employment.
Challenges Worldwide are working with International Citizen Service (ICS), a government funded programme supported by the Department for International Development (DFID) to offer young volunteers aged 18-25 the opportunity to work with small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs)
ICS Entrepreneur placements take place in Ghana, Uganda and Zambia. Currently, volunteer placements are in the capital city of each country – Accra (Ghana), Kampala (Uganda) and Lusaka (Zambia). Challenges send groups of up to 18 volunteers to each country to work alongside in-country volunteers.
