This appeal is all about Edwin!
We've had a fantastically successful last couple of years and are really batting above our average in terms of performance, both on and off the pitch.
As I write this our 1s have just secured promotion to Midlands One, our 2nds, having won promotion twice in the last three years and have a good number of players pushing for 1st team spots, and we're one of only two clubs in Greater Birmingham able to field four senior men's teams.
Our Colts have appeared in the North Midlands Plate Final in three of the last four years and won it twice.
Our Mini & Junior ranks have swelled by 115% in the last three years and are supported by over 40 fully qualified coaches and we've seen the introduction of a successful Ladies O2 Touch team and our first girls U13 team.
Combine that with Friday night Vets rugby, Junior 7s and the ever present and successful Ladies Rugby and you'll see just how busy it is at The Shrine these days.
The ever present in all of this has been Edwin Knight ably supported by Chantelle. Quite possibly the best physio double-act the club has ever had. Their soothing hands and warm demeanour have been a significant factor in getting bodies of all ages, genders, shapes and sizes back out on the pitch able to support the effort.
To say they're stacked is an understatement, which wasn't helped when the make-shift physio room flooded recently. They deserve better and we'd like to give them better but we need your help.
Both Edwin and Chantelle know that grassroots rugby comes with challenges, but really! We can do better than this. Let's dig deep and contribute towards getting the best physios in Midlands rugby their own 'purpose built' Physio room. He deserves it, Chantelle definitely deserves it.....
