After being assured that every penny raised will go to the children on Ward 15 suffering from Cancer we hope to raise as much as we can!!
About the project
At TeamVrD we take great pride in raising money for a chosen charity each year. During 2014 we managed to raise over £3000 for a terminally ill cancer sufferer thanks to the fantastic generosity of our supporters across the UK (You).
Because of the success of last years competition we proposed a new competition to raise money for the Cancer Ward of the Birmingham Children’s Hospital in 2015. We have a deadline to hand over what we have raised by September 2015.
Birmingham Childrens Hospital Ward 15 specifically looks after children who have been born with cancer. Some make it through and lead a long life and others are, tragically, not so fortunate.
What we have been assured is that every penny we raise will go towards caring for these young people and making their lives more comfortable during their illness.
Launching the VrDMotorsport competition at the beginning of June we had high hopes to raise our target of £3000 with raffle tickets being sold at Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Unfortunately, at Goodwood, due to a number of reasons beyond our control, only a small amount of tickets were sold and via the online sales channel we have raised just £67.
Because of this figure we are all taking the steps to do everything we can for one final push to raise money for this charity and hope to get close to the figure we set out.
The original competition was set to split the money raised between the Charity and the VrDMotorsport Young driver programme. We are going to relaunch the competition, now, and will 100% give every penny raised to the Childrens Cancer Ward.
After contacting some of our fantastic partners we now have a much larger prize package to win if you purchase a Raffle Ticket to give a much broader spectrum of money cant buy opportunities.
