Alpha TC aims to expand its provision of trampoline sports for the community by purchasing a Double-Mini Trampoline and landing area.

Alpha Trampoline Club

Alpha TC started trampoline sessions in January 2013 and in the last 2 1/2 years have grown as a club and a competitive force in the Southern Region. While encouraging participation in trampolining at all levels, Alpha excels at getting children in to competitive sport and has achieved great results in the short life of the club so far. Counting a British Champion, two Regional Champions, an International second place and various national medallists among the ranks, Alpha is looking onwards and upwards for the future.

Project aim

We are aiming to raise enough money to help us purchase a new, national standard Double-Mini Trampoline as well as the essential Landing Area and mats.

About the project

Alpha Trampoline Club are moving venue in September 2015 having already outgrown our current place. We now have 88 members ranging from 5 up to 23 and a regularly attended adults session.Earlier this year we also completed our GymMark Accreditation which means that British Gymnastics recognise us as a safe, effective and child-friendly club. While we are covering all the costs of the venue move and expansion, we have wanted to add the extra discipline of Double-Mini Trampoline (DMT) to our club for a while and expand on what we can offer to our members.

Despite not owning our own DMT, we have already had members competing in the sport to great success.

This year, our members and coach, Christine Bothwell, travelled miles to train at other clubs' venues, just to enable them to participate in the sport. Our two members pictured above did so well at regional level that they qualified through to represent the Southern Region team at the Regional Team Finals which was held at the East of England Showground in Peterborough. Molly finished 9th in the NDP 2 11-12 Girls, while Francesca did brilliantly to be awarded the gold medal in the top regional level, NDP 6 15+ Women. Francesca also then qualified through to the National NDP Finals which were held at the International Centre in Telford. Holding her nerve brilliantly and increasing her difficulty and execution scores, she finished with second place and the silver medal. A great achievement for performers who had limited training time and a club without the equipment or facilities for the sport!

Alpha coach, Christine Bothwell, also travelled to Somerset in order to continue her DMT qualifications and is now a Senior Club Coach and is capable of taking performers up to national levels. With members and coaches already proving themselves to be ready for this new sport to be introduced at Alpha, all we need is your help to get us going!

How you can help

By supporting this project, you will enable us to increase participation in an alternative gymnastic discipline at our club, and help us to provide opportunities for our members to compete at national standards. As a club and as competitors, we have dreams and aspirations - we just need a little help to achieve them! We really appreciate all of your support and help and hope that together we might be able to provide some gymnasts of the future!
