We are looking to raise money to buy the Goodall family a new car after the sad death of Michelle Goodall
About the project
Today saw the conclusion of what has been a tragic story as Michelle Goodall (36) was cremated at Dewsbury Moor Crematorium.
Michelle had been suffering with serious lung issues and had an unsuccessful lung transplant which left her with severe life-limiting illnesses.
The Goodall family were, to all intents and purposes, a normal family and, as a result of her diagnosis, spent years saving £7,000 to cover her funeral as and when the time came.
Last year, Michelle was home alone and 2 local thugs broke in, assaulted her and stole her belongings (including their funeral savings) - Days later they attempted to do exactly the same -
When the story broke, we immediately contacted the family to offer our help and support in arranging and paying for the funeral -
Sadly, Michelle passed away 2 weeks ago and today saw a jam-packed Crematorium congregate to say their final farewells.
With the sun shining, the horse draw carriage (provided, at cost, by Hanson Carriage Hire - www.hansoncarriagesforhire.co.uk) pictured above looked simply stunning.
Flowers on the day were donated FREE Of Charge by Michelle's Flowers Ltd, Pontefract - www.michellesflowersltd.co.uk - Both Karen and Michelle wished the Goodalls all the best for the day.
The Service itself was delivered in typical enigmatic fashion by NFFD Trained Celebrant Dr Geoff Gardner who also gave up his time for free - www.funeralcelebrantnorth.com
The sad twist to all of this is that John and Michelle shared a motability car which, now that Michelle has passed away, has had to be returned leaving the family without transport. The NFFD have therefore teamed up with Crowdfunder to raise funds to the tune of £3,000 to pay for a car for the family to help them get back on their feet -
Please give generously via - www.crowdfunder.co.uk/help-a-family-in-need or visit www.nffd.co.uk - we have 28 days to raise £3,000 that’s just 30p per connection of mine on Linkedin! Help us to help a family in need -
BBC Look North are broadcasting details of the above at 1830 on BBC 1 in Yorkshire or it shall be available via the iplayer from tonight.
Best of luck to the Goodall family for the future.
