If we manage to reach our fundraising target, we will use Road Safety Week to launch a competition in three local primary schools asking the children to design a colourful mosaic about Heather and her 45 years of crossing generations of our community's children safely and always with a smile. A selection of winning designs will be judged in consultation with artist Tracey Cartledge, creating a final mosaic design for production.
The mosaic will be installed on the corner of the crossing where Glebelands Road and Park Road meet; 'Heather's Corner'.
In order to achieve this goal, we are seeking support to fundraise a total amount of £3000. The money we raise will mean we can:
Launch the mosaic design competition in three primary schools; Wellfield Infant and Nursery School, Wellfield Junior School, and Park Road Primary School, Sale
Commission professional mosaic artist Tracey Cartledge to select and adapt a winning design for a public art mosaic
Production of mosaic suitable for public installation
Design and print of a book picturing ALL the entered competition designs from local children. This will be presented to Heather as a thank you gift.
Create a display board outside of Nisa to show a large selection of submitted designs for the mural design competition.
Install the mosaic and hold an 'unveiling ceremony'!
Please help us celebrate Heather's special anniversary and make a pledge towards creating a heartfelt and memorable thank-you to her from this community.
Thank you for reading.
