Hale mental health project in Ethiopia

Hale mental health project in Ethiopia

We are fundraising to buy a vehicle to visit area's of Gondar to provide , training , treatment mental health and physical care

Unfortunately, this project was not successful

Hale is a charity  number 1122773 that works in two components with physical and mental  health. The mental health team are based in leicester and work to train and provide facilities for patients in eithiopia to be treated in a culturally appropriate way to meet their needs. The Charity has raised funds to provide an acute mental health ward at Gondar hospital and is now working to extend knowledge and care in the community. Staff from the UK travel to Gondar and work with the local univesity and mental health staff to develop skills in local teams. The Leicester team will visit the community with staff and advise and train staff to deliver interventions. At present this is adhoc as we rely on borrowing a vehicle to do these visits as some can be 150 miles away in very remote areas.  We would like to be able to provide a vehicle to transport the leicester team to improve access and also to employ a local community worker to do the work all year round.  If anyone can donate and transport a vehicle to Gondar please get in touch
