Aim

This event aims to bring local communities together - by opening up their front gardens to the neighbours and selling unwanted items, they are recycling, making a little money and giving objects a new lease of life. For artists, crafts people and designers this is about promoting their skill and enhancing their reach by gaining exposure.

Hackney craft and jumble sale trail is a grass roots project, with no external sponsors, run on the goodwill of its organisers.

With the aim to promote recycling, support local artists, designers and crafts people, celebrating the creativity that is strong in Hackney.  It  also hopes to bring back the jumble sale, enhance community goodwill and nab a few bargains in the process!   It is easy for everyone to be involved, simply set up a stall in your front garden selling your unwanted items, or pop around the neighbours’ gardens to purchase from them.

We are looking for money to cover the printing, flyering and promotion costs, the more money we get, the more we can spend on promoting. We hope to produce a map with all the houses taking part in the trail, hopefully this will be printed (if not downloadable) and handed out on the day.  It would be great to have printed balloons for the participants to have outside to mark each stall.  We will be advertising locally.

We are happy to accept any donation (big or small), £3 would make a difference.
