Our Foundation is commited to creating a thriving community for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in Lemery, the Philippines. We are building 100 homes for victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the municipality of Lemery. Our project - Build a House, Build a Home - is focused around sustainability, and we are building a training centre to provide skills training and livelihood programmes for our beneficiaries.

On November the 8th 2013, the strongest Typhoon ever recorded on landfall hit the Philippines. The destruction path was 100 miles wide with winds of over 170 mph. It created a storm surge of up to 45ft along the coast. Typhoon Haiyan has pushed millions of people further into poverty and despair.

The typhoon affected an estimated 14 million people, resulting in over 6,000 deaths. Half a million homes were completely destroyed. Many people are still living in temporary accommodation, their livelihoods destroyed.

The Greg Secker Foundation is restoring a community and contributing to the overall development of the municipality of Lemery. Most building projects in the aftermath of the typhoon was directed towards costal towns, leaving little if any restructuring projects for inland towns also affected by the typhoon.

Our goal is to build 100 new homes, designed to withstand future Typhoons, which will also include a sustainable
livelihood programme with the view of helping families to support themselves. We are partnering with the Central Philippine University to provide skills training for our beneficiaries.

The land has kindly been donated and we started to build in April 2016.

We have big dreams and our vision is a long term plan to create a brighter future for this community. This is where we need your help! We have many plans for this comminity, but the funds are lacking. We want to reduce their costs by providing solar energy and we want to offer them more in terms of skills training, livelihoood porgrammes and employment opportunities.

This community has gone through so much, and they need our assistance to get back on their feet again. Join us in changing lives, we promise a truly giving and touching experience.

A house costs £8,000 to build and every little helps. For £10 pounds you can purchase 8 pieces of coco lumbers, for £20 you can purchase 7 bags of cement, and for £50 you can purchase 8 gallons of paint! In terms of skills training £100 equals the cost of sending 6 teachers to teach at two seperate occasions.

Your contricution can make a huge and lasting impact on the lives of our beneficiaries.
