The Green Party in Manchester aims to elect local MPs and Councillors so social justice and green policy can be applied for the common good.
Manchester Green Party has experienced a fantastic 12 months. Membership has quadrupled and we’re now one of the largest local parties in England. During the 2014 local elections The Green Party had the second highest vote count across Manchester.
Over the year we have campaigned:
- for action to address the high levels of poverty and child poverty in Manchester
- for saving the NHS
- for a living wage for all workers
- for the renationalising of the railways
- against austerity and cuts to local services
- against tuition fees
- against fracking
Now we are preparing for the most important and unpredictable elections in a generation.
Why We Need Your Help
Manchester has 3 parliamentary constituencies and shares another 2 with Salford and Trafford. For each constituency we need a deposit of £500.
The Green Party don’t have the big business backing of the four establishment parties, and refuse donations from unethical sources. We rely on our members and supporters - people like you - to make donations to fund our campaigns.
Please donate whatever you can afford towards our target of £2100. Your money will really help our campaign to elect Green MPs, and reach out to more people than ever before.
If you are donating over £500, please remember you must be on the electoral register and be willing to provide your contact details to us, please do get in contact before you do. (If you donate under £50 we may use your donation for campaigning rather than for the deposits).
Hitting our target will allow us to fund and deliver a city-wide election campaign. We will be able to highlight why our policies will work for Manchester and the country as a whole.
People are turning to the Green Party like never before. We’re providing a real alternative to the dominance of pro-austerity politics. With your help, The Green Party can help campaign for a fairer and more sustainable future.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you feel you are not able to contribute financially, you can still help by volunteering for the campaign by signing up here.
Finally, of course, don’t forget that your vote counts on May 7th!
Many thanks for your help.
