Goods Yard

A new wine bar in Manchester City Centre opening very soon! Food served will be freshly prepared and cooked on site using local produce.

I will be renting a kitchen in a new wine bar in Manchester City Centre serving the bar´s guests. Food served will be freshly prepared and cooked on site using local produce whenever possible. Main menu will consist of traditional British cuisine with a modern twist and some handpicked favourites from around the world.

Goods Yard will be our first step to our main project, Eat Street MCR, which will be a selection of street foods from around the world. All dishes will be freshly prepared and cooked on site using local produce whenever possible. Street food is at trend at the moment but unfortunately, the street food we see is not as authentic and majority is made from processed products.

I have been working as a chef for over ten years. I originally come from Philippines and lived in Scandinavia majority of my adult life. Cooking to me is as natural as any day to day routine. My knowledge of cooking was originally taught to me by my Chinese grandfather who owned his own restaurant and farm with my grandmother. Cooking from fresh ingredients is therefore vital for me as I see food not just as a necessity but a way to enjoy the fruits of nature. I come from a country where the centrepiece of all family gatherings are surrounded with food.

My vision is to introduce street food as how it should be, fresh! Our chefs will come from street food background with their own specialities.

Why crowddunding?

- I have just recently moved to the UK because of a head chef job which unfortunately ended due to change of management. Three years of credit history is required when applying for a bank loan which I do not have.

- We are starting out on a minimum budget and slowly but surely develop the concept from thereon.

Why the concept?

- There´s too many chained restaurants serving processed foods and it´s now time to go back to basics and introduce the true meaning of "food".
