Godney Playing Field: The Village Hub

Our tiny village has one outdoor space. We have put in new play kit and now need to make it safe for toddlers with a fence along the road

New stretch target

Will be kept to pay ongoing maintanace costs such as further repairs, insurance costs, annual inspections.

Project aim

The 170 people of Godney have worked hard over the years to create and maintain a safe community space for all to enjoy.   Our resources are limited with fund raising fetes and festivals covering the running cost.  We have put in new lottery funded play equipment and now need to make it safe with a fence along the access road and to fix the gate plus new regulation means we need to adjust the rocking horse and ideally replace the football posts which are used by the older children....

About the project

The Charity team, led by Julie, do a fantastic job every year raising funds for maintenance and earlier this year getting lottery funds to replace the play equipment.  The picture shows the kit we had to dismantle with the new equipment now installed, including new safety matting which the villlage put down itself.

We are so nearly finished on this project but are worried about the fencing around the area and the last couple of bits of equipment.  We want this to be a safe and inclusive space for a village with no public transport links and a large number of children.

The team will do all the installation work but need help with the capital outlay - £380 to finish everything.   The specifics are: Fencing materials £100, new gate post £30, materials to fix football posts £50, new football nets £50, new mower belt £50 and repairs to the container to make it safe & secure £100.  Your help will be much appreciated and the work will last at least a decade....  Thank you for your consideration and do please visit Godney at any time...
