Goathland VH Refurbishment Project

Social isolation is real in Goathland. The Village Hall provides an essential service. Improving energy efficiency will ensure its future.

The improvement of energy efficiency at the hall, although involving a significant capital outlay, will mean that running costs long term can be kept to a minimum. Keeping the halls costs to a minimum will enable us to retain the low local rents we currently offer thus allowing the local community to use the facilities at very little cost for events that help bring villagers together and go some way to preventing the increasingly seen isolation of especially the older residents in the village.

The Trust puts on a lot of events at the hall to encourage the community to get together.

In the darker months the better outside lighting will allow easier access for parents collecting children from events at the hall and will mean people are not put off attending an event in winter because of poor lighting.
