Giles crowdfunding to raise £3000 to pay for studio hire and production costs for his debut big band album

Giles is a composer/arranger who has recently worked with Liane Carroll on her newest album launch ("The Right To Love") as a conductor and arranger. He has also worked as a copyist for the Metropole Orkest at their 2017 BBC Prom, "Beneath The Underdog : Charles Mingus Revisited".

Giles is a 4th year Jazz arranging/ composition student at Guildhall School Of Music And Drama , where , last year, he conducted the Guildhall Big Band ,with Mike Walker and Iain Dixon, in a concert of their music ,as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival.

The new album with feature original compositions and arrangements , written by Giles for Big Band. This will include collaborations with different singers. The big band will be made up of some of the most exciting young musicians in the U.K.

Giles' original compositions are influenced by Vince Mendoza, Maria Schneider, Gill Evans and Mike Walker, among others. By having a big band, Giles has a large number of different textures and colours at his disposal. From delicate woodwind writing, to more modern rich big band writing.

The recording is going to be at Quiet Money Studios in late January and will be engineered/produced by James McMillan

The rewards include one to one arranging/composition lessons with Giles, exclusive download of  tracks, prior to the release, and a copy of a score/parts.  You will also be thanked in the album notes.

This is an exciting journey for Giles and is the most ambitious project he has ever undertaken but it is set to be one to remember!

Please help get the recording made and be part of the process!
