We have been providing beautifully designed and profesionally orchestrated floral arrangements for any event in need of serious visual and olfactory titillation since 2010, using flowers from all over the world.
Believe it or not, moving flowers can be a serious workout. Especially when your lugging an entire wedding's-worth around the capital. Granted, we dont actually carry them from one side of the city to the other on foot: we rent a van, or call in a courier company, and dash back and forth (the actual lugging happens at either end).
But we have big plans for James Bernard. We will soon be expanding to other parts of the country and will be taking on ever more diverse and exciting projects. This will require a much greater degree of autonomy and flexibility than we currently have. (Besides, shivering outside a wedding venue at 2 in the morning, guarding several hundred rose bouquets from love-drunk revellers whilst waiting for the hire-van to find us, does grow rather tiresome.)
We are looking to get three vans of our very own. We need a pair of nice, economic electric vans to run stock around the city to and from events, to make deliveries and to uphold our 99.9% green policy. We're thoroughly looking forward to the benefits of not having to worry about road tax and congestion charges, and the joy of driving about for 2p/mile! We're also after a bigger, sturdier transit van to move stock up and down between London and our new location in Kent.
Specifically, the Nissan e-NV200 has caught our eye: its surprisingly spacious, comes in our shop colour and is greener than the country of Bhutan. Perfect for zipping about London and other towns without leaving a trail of smog behind us. Here's a pic from Nissan's site:
Flowers are at their best when they're fresh, and freshness is best maintained with speedy deliveries. There is currently a van-shaped hole where our delivery system is, so chip in and help us build a service which gives you, our customers, the finest, fastest flowers you can get.
But possibly the most exciting and important prospect to come from our new transports will be the opportunities they open up. The money we'll save from your crowdfunding will go towards employing new staff for our upcoming location in Kent, as well as our ever-growing London shop. These positions will include apprenticeships offered to young people looking to gain experience and knowledge in floristry and retail.
With enthusiastic new staff and unprecedented flexibility, James Bernard will continue to make the country a more colourful, fragrant, beautiful and, ultimately, better place.
