It costs £500 to stand one candidate in the General Election. Support democracy by helping us provide people in Dudley, Halesowen and Stourbridge the option to vote for a Green voice.
Dudley is a very mixed borough. Near areas of decent wealth, we also have areas of extreme deprivation. Our Conservative MPs have been loyal in voting through government cuts that have ignored the environment and hurt the poorest most, while our one Labour MP is hostile to co-operating with progressives like Caroline Lucas in parliament.
We have four great candidates (from L-R above: Jenny Maxwell in Dudley South, Andi Mohr in Stourbridge, James Robertson in Halesowen & Rowley Regis and Andrew Nixon in Dudley North) ready to be strong voices for environmental and social justice and to challenge the sitting MPs and hold them to account at hustings and in the press.
We are extremely proud to be able to offer people the chance to vote for us but, as a grassroots party, we can't rely on rich individuals and big business donations to clear the path to democracy for us. Due to the election being called at very short notice, we haven't been able to save up for this election as we would have liked, so need to raise money urgently.
We are looking to raise £1,000. This money will go towards getting Andi, James, Jenny & Andrew on the ballot papers and then spreading the word about the Green message through leafletting, canvassing and events.
Please donate today!
£20 lets us deliver leaflets to 1000 voters
If 10 people give £50, that'll get us on one ballot paper
Our members have already been working extremely hard to pick up the bulk of our costs but we do need that final push from all those supporters and activists out there who believe in equality not poverty, public services (including the NHS) in public hands and the need to take urgent action on climate change now.
