New stretch target
Wow! Once we've reached this level we should be safely in the new shop but there's always more to buy - new brands to get in, new tiny businesses to support, a new computer and till that links in with the e-commerce site would be amazing (but costs at least £2000)! We also, in the new shop have a double basement that needs some adjustment before it will become a useable space for workshops, knit groups and parties etc. so we will look into putting that into action.
Who We Are: We are a tiny independent yarn shop in the centre of Nottingham - the only one! We opened in September 2010 making us five and a half years old. Our third birthday party. In our current location we are working with about 12 square metres of space which we're finding much too small. So with an up-and-running small business we desperately need a bigger shop - we can't fit all of our customers in! I've found the perfect shop for us - three, nearly four times, the size of the current shop and much much further into the centre of town. This extra space will allow us to hold bigger workshops, more stock, and provide space to browse knitting patterns in comfort. There's one snag, we have found a location unexpectedly soon and as we're a tiny business anyway, we're strapped for spare cash which is where you come in!What We Need: We're looking for £2000 to go towards the cost of a surveyor, solicitor, moving van, signage (including A-boards!) decorating, carpeting, shop fittings and extra yarn and, once we're in there, the rent and rate hike that will hit us. This, along with the £3,500 that we've saved, should allow us to hit the ground running and keep doing what you love about us but this time bigger and better! Any extra money will be spent on yarn, patterns, needles, notions and (if we get silly crazy amounts) potentially put towards renovating the basement so that it's useable as a workshop and event space or buying a new computer and till system that will link our shop to our e-commerce site. There is so much potential! We hope, after serving you for five and a half years, and winning the Best Yarn Shop in the Midlands for three years running - voted for by you - that you'll support us in this new venture so that we can support you in your next woolly venture.
