Help get our brother Dominic to record an album for 30th Birthday.

Project aim

Dominic turns 30 in September and yet his multi-instrumental and music writing abilties are yet to be taken into a studio.

About the project

This is a crowd-funding project launched by Dominic's brother and sister. As this site is launched, he has no idea about it. He'll find out though, and by the time he does it will be too late. Ha!

So. Dom is an amazing guitarist. And a brilliant singer. And what's more, he has written dozens of clever, intricate and warming songs. And although he has kinda put a few tunes down on his old eight track, he has never been in a studio. Which is a crime. As his 30th birthday approaches, his brother and sister have decided that for posterity, if nothing else, he NEEDS to be put in a studio with a professional set up and lay down some songs.

James and Sophy (and we think all his friends and hopefully many strangers) want to make this happen. It's both about creating the chance for incredible music to be made, and a bit about giving back.

Sophy and James would not be where they were if not the support of their brother. For examples, during James' medical degree, Dominic repeatedly came down for his birthdays to lead all his friends for marathon nights around the campfire, gently coaxing those who don't usually sing or play into 20 minute long versions of wagon wheel until three in the morning. James isn't sure he'd have survived to graduate without this. Sophy has had the joy of an older brother who has patiently and caringly helped her find the encouragement and belief to pursue her own music.

THE DEAL.

From looking around, we think that £5000 should pay for a week in a recording studio with a producer and sound engineer (what he does there will be up to him). We are hoping to raise half of that on this site. To that affect Sophy and James have agreed to MATCH whatever is raised on this site, up to £2500.

Do it! Donate! Get Dom into a studio!

More About Dom.

So, we're hoping a lot of people who know Dom will already be keen to contribute to this. However, this is a public site and strangers happening upon this page may like to know a little more about him.

Well, he is a Theatre Studies graduate and member of little bulb theatre (http://www.littlebulbtheatre.com), a wonderful group of actors in their own right. He has also been part of a variety of bands, from funk to rock and gypsy jazz. He is a multi-instrumentalist, playing anything with strings and I guess I would describe him as a folk artist, but I'm not sure what he'd say about that. If you want to know more about him or his music, listen to the tracks uploaded here or email me!

(Hey Dom, when you're reading this, sorry and Happy Birthday.)
