My name is Rebecca and I would like to help pay for my step mum to do the course of her dreams.
She is one of the kindest and most giving people I have ever met. She's worked her entire life to provide for our family and keep a roof over our heads.
Along the way we, like everyone, have had our ups and down. But through everything she has been our rock and the one person we can depend on. In recent years she was involved in a number of road accident (none of which were her fault), and this unfortunately this has left her with severe PTSD. It is now our turn to be there for her!
Through all of this she has always been creative and had a love for everything horticultural! She's been taking a few courses with the Great British Florist; even volunteering here time to work in their warehouse (they've said that their going to have to start paying here, her skills have increased that much).
She's has always dreamed of being a florist and having her own business, and I know she has the drive and the passion to succeed! The Tallulah Rose 4 week course, not only teaches essential skills, but also the nessassary business know how:
Week 1: The first week is a hands-on, practical experience learning a wide range of floristry skills. You will learn planting designs, hand-tied bouquets, vase arrangements, oasis and eco alternative arrangements and sympathy work too. During week one you will cover seasonality of flowers, care and conditioning, wastage control, colour, design and proportion, ordering and finally costing, a vital part of your future business.
Week 2: Week two is ‘wedding and event’. From bridal consultations, costings and quotations through to bridal bouquets, flower crowns, buttonholes, corsages, church flowers, venue dressing and lots of inspirational ideas for you to begin designing your own wedding and event flowers.
Week 3: In week three we introduce you to the business skills required to launch your own business. We step away from the practical and invite experts in their relevant fields to come into school and talk you on the following subjects…. branding, marketing, social media, advertising, business planning, website building, business banking and accounting. In addition to those we will take a look at the florists T&C’s which are provided by Emerald and Jade Flowers. During this week we also visit New Covent Garden Flower Market. The expert blogger Rona Wheeldon takes you on a tour around the market introducing you to flower and foliage suppliers. The market visit requires a 4.30am start from Bath.
Week 4: We return to practical skills during week four and we focus on your final interpretation pieces. You will design and create your own wedding flowers without the pressure of a ‘real’ bride! We will guide you through the process from mood boards, costing and ordering to producing your final floral designs. We have a revision day during week four allowing you to practise skills learnt during the previous weeks. We finish the final day a little earlier allowing time for the team to feedback on your final pieces.
So please. I'm not asking people to give alot. I just want to do everything I can to help her get what she deserves, and what I know she will work hard at for the rest of here life.
Thank you in advance, Rebecca x
