Convert a disused park toilet block into a community training and meeting room, offering free courses for disadvantaged and isolated people.
About the project
Part of the toilet block has now been converted into a community cafe, operating since March 2015. This has been well-recieved by the local community, and has already had six unemployed people undertake training and work skills. It has also removed all anti-social behaviour from this area of the park
We have now identified a need to community training in employment skills, health, and older people living in isolation. We wish to convert the right hand side of the above picture into a simple training and meeting room.
We have recieved offers of free labour, but seek funding for building materials. We are a small charity (one part -time worker) based in Portslade, East Sussex.
