Freiston Centre for Environmental Education

To keep the centre open for another year after Lincolnshire County Council have cut funding without giving it a chance to self fund.

Project aim

To keep the centre open for another year after Lincolnshire County Council have cut funding without giving it a chance to self fund.

About the project

Freiston Centre for Environmental Education is being closed by the Lincolnshire County Council on the the grounds that they can no longer continue to subsidise the centre. The centre is currently managed by a company called CfBT who are withdrawing there management after there funding to run the centre was cut.

The centre and its staff go beyond providing environmental education experiences, it is a unique experience which teaches children vital life skills increasing self esteem, independence, communication, teamwork and confidence. The council are closing the centre without giving it a realistic chance to find an alternative source of income and it is a tragic loss to the children and young people of the country.

Please go to https://lincolnshire.cfbt.com/en-GB/Services-To-Young-People/Freiston-Centre-for-Environmental-Education and look at what we do and help make a difference to a lot of childrens lives. Most of the Headteachers and Teachers came here when they were children as its been going since 1973 and should not be allowed to close.

It doesnt need much and any donation will be greatfully received.

Thanks
