Martial arts exhibition to celebrate the seventieth birthday this year of Dr. Fredric Lee 8th Dan Tae Kwon Do Grandmaster
To hold a martial arts exhibition and social gathering for Grand Master Fred Lee's students and instructors and their students from the 1970's up to the present day
About the project
Fred Lee, now Dr. Lee, came to London from Singapore in 1972 to study law. Being a 4th Dan in Tae Kwon Do he decided with his old friend Audric Begg to start a Tae Kwon Do school. Their first T.K.D. club was opened in 1972 at the Brotherhood Hall, Masons Avenue, Harrow. Following the success of this club another club was opened the following year in Rayners Lane. From this small start a group of clubs that covered London and the home counties soon emerged and with the joining up with some other groups across the country became the British Tae Kwon Do association.
Master Lee, now in his seventieth year, has retired from Taekwondo because of ill health. To celebrate him being 70 and as a recognition of the contribution he has made to Taekwondo over the years we plan to hold a martial arts demonstration and a reception at the Harrow Leisure Centre for all his friends and students old and new
