The decision by Sajid Javid, the "Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government", on 6th October 2016 to overrule Lancashire County Council's decision to refuse permission for fracking at Preston New Road, Little Plumpton and Roseacre Wood shows contempt for local democracy and the local communities under threat.  All communities under threat of fracking in UK have spoken out in one word; without exception, they say "NO"!   Only England remains under threat at this point in time.

Preston New Road Action Group are presently awaiting a decision from the Court of Appeal on refusal in the High Court of their case against Sajid Javid's decision to allow fracking.   Either way, they will need funds to continue their fight to resist fracking.

Roseacre Awareness Group are presently preparing for the re-opened Public Inquiry in April 2018 sanctioned by Sajid Javid overruling the Inspector, Wendy McKay, who recommended refusal of Cuadrilla’s appeal on highway safety grounds. She said the proposed Roseacre Wood fracking site would have “a serious and very significant adverse impact on the safety of people using the public highway” that could not be eliminated or reduced to acceptable levels.  Notwithstanding that, Sajid Javid said he was "minded" to allow the appeal!

This Crowdfunder is sanctioned by both communities and aims to assist them, through the Frack Free Lancashire Legal Fund, with their legal expenses going forward.  The industry intent on turning Lancashire into the largest gas-field in Europe knows that the affected communities have limited resources.   However, with your help, the communities can continue to exercise their democratic right to challenge the industry and the government.
