WHO AM I?
Thomas Jefferson once said,
"If you want something you've never had, you must be willing to do something you've never done"
And that’s what I plan to do.
So, let me introduce myself:
I am Venus Gnahoua.
I am a 17 years old girl who decided to go and do the Peter Jones CBE’s Enterprise Academy Course after having done my GCSE in 2015.
This course allowed me to create my own business.
I have always enjoyed reading from a very younger age. However, upon reaching secondary school, I began reading books on leadership and success such as: ‘Rising to the top’ and ‘The keys to success’, which are both by Jim Rohn, and ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’ by Robert Kiyosaki, ’21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership’ by John C Maxwell, ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’ by Stephen Covey, ‘The Chimp Paradox: The Mind Management Programme’ by Prof Steve Peters and many more.
These books made me realise that it was possible for me to make my dreams into reality, regardless of my background.
WHAT AM I DOING?
After researching, I’ve decided to launch a special tea which will be the first of many.
'Soursop' also known as 'Graviola' is the plant that will be used to create the first of many teas. The plant is grown in Southeast Asia, South America, The Caribbean and parts of Africa. Soursop tea increases endurance promotes sleepiness and contains amino acids, vitamin C, iron, fibre and many more. The fruit can be made for beverages and sorbets as well.
Within England alone, 84% of people drink tea and 96% of tea that is drunk in Britain is brewed by a bag which means there’s a market for it available.
I want to have my own business because I want to contribute and make an impact on the world, by making people aware of the benefits of food and drinks from diverse cultures.
Having my own business also means that I will be:
1. Pursuing my passion,
2. Creating jobs opportunities,
3. Financially independent,
4. Discovering new fields,
5. An inspiration to someone else who wants to achieve their dreams,
6. Giving back to the community while creating my own brand.
A lot of people dreamt of starting their own business, but they only took that step in Adulthood.
My business is called
“Food on Point”.
Food on Point was founded in 2016, the main product as of right now is Soursop tea but soon be opening its doors to offer various products. The values Food on Point follow are:
- To provide the best and organic products/ingredients
- Having a passion for what we do
- Bringing diverse cultures together, making us unite in culture, knowledge and food
WHY DO I NEED YOUR HELP?
The question is, why do I need your help? I need your help because I want to create brand awareness, share these products and the benefits to health. I aim to use the funds for PR Campaigns, purchasing, shipping, packaging and storing the tea.
But that’s not all, you can choose to pledge and get reward by saying thank you for taking the time to donate into my business. If you donate £1,000 + you have the chance to have one of the many products named after yourselves! Imagine going to the supermarket and seeing your name under ‘Food on Point’ and thinking, ‘I helped that girl’s dream become a reality and now she’s doing what she loves’
Food on Point isn’t just about food and drinks, it also supports wellbeingness and healthy eating. If you or anyone that you know enjoy organic products and discovering new products through their taste buds then, Food on Point is the company for you
Food on Point is eating with wisdom
