22 years ago as a Game Guide on the Zambezi River, I traded my first microlight flight over Victoria Falls for booze cruises that we used to run up the river at sunset.
That first flight got me hooked and I promised myself that if I ever got the chance to fly again I would, that chance came recently whilst I was abroad and after 3hrs of training I knew that my love of flying had not been lost. Even after all those years, the minute I strapped myself in, it all came back. That spirit of adventure, that feeling of freedom and above all, knowing that this was something I have a love for.
I am now intending to see this through to it conclusion... My Pilots Licence for Ultralights.
One of the last things my instructor said to me was, if you are going to learn to fly, do so because you love it, not because you want to just do it, and whilst taxing back to the hard stand after my last landing, I knew that was true.
After 15years as an IT hardware engineer and growing more frustrated at what I do everyday I have decided to follow what I really want to do, take to the skies and find my freedom once more, if I cannot get it from the land of my birth, then i am going to get it from flying.
If you want to join me on this incredibly exciting journey, then please, my door is open my hospitality is there just step inside and make yourself comfortable.
If you want to help contribute towards this, amazing ! but its not only about the money... if anyone out there reads this and thinks that at the end of it they could do with someone who not only has a background as a former professional game guide, business manager and IT engineer but one who can fly as well, then I would love to hear from you. If you have a job or contract up your sleeve, anywhere in the world and you think I can work with you or your organisation, then I would love to hear from you.
