Established in 1992 - FLEX FM has been broadcasting the most cutting edge electronic dance music to you the public as an unlicensed radio station. In our first 25 years, we had to do this without a licence, transmitters and studios being lost along the way. Despite all odds being against us, you the public are a massive reason as to why we have progressed onto becoming a legal radio station from having your constant support over the last 25 years
FLEX FM RADIO is multi-media platform that broadcasts the most cutting edge electronic dance music to a worldwide audience at the highest level, as well as taking care of our community, supporting and influencing the young people of South-West London as our number one priority.
The station has become an integral part of the community. We are constantly seeking to develop a range of partnerships to ensure that we serve the needs of our community.
The station will provide a platform for creative, artistic and musical expression, enabling previously unknown people with creative gifts, talents and skills to be showcased and celebrated.
Flex FM will enable people in the local community to work together, passing skills, abilities and training to others.
We will provide opportunities to disadvantaged local people in the form of training courses and 'hands on' voluntary involvement within the radio station. We also have a successful joint training programme with South Thames College in Wandsworth. We are an approved NCFE training centre providing a selection of courses on site.
Following our award of a Community Radio Station Licence from OFCOM, we need to build the studios from scratch to launch as a functioning radio station and training centre for the community. We are relying on the support of the local community to help us fund the set up of our premises.
Your funding will go directly towards the set up of the premises. That includes the build of two radio studios and an office within the building. One studio will be used for the live broadcasts for the radio and the second studio will be used for training. Within that includes building materials, equipment for both studios e.g. decks, mixers, microphones, speakers, computers and programming systems.
At this present time, we have a very small team of volunteers all working together with us to help start build our studios which will be the hub of FLEX FM. Without the studios, we will not be able to progress with our plans to be one of the most influential creative output's in South West London, supporting the young people of London.
You, the public will have a chance to continue to be an integral part of our progress, helping us so then we can contribute to helping the community we love so dearly - Remember, without you, the community, we cant exist at all....
