The FITS Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that provides training and accreditation in service management to staff in schools. Since our creation in 2009 nearly 1000 staff have attained an internationally recognised qualification.
Sadly, we receive no funding from Government for our work so have to survive on money we raise from our courses and generous donations. As the founder of the organisation I have personally provided on-going funding to the organisation out of my own resources to allow us to continue to offer the valuable service we provide.
To date, all of our courses have been classroom based and because of the nature of life in schools, this has meant that many staff who would like to benefit from the FITS training and accreditation are unable to take time away from school to attend.
There is now an urgent need to develop online versions of or courses so that many more staff can undertake the training in their own time, become accredited in the use of the FITS methodology and in turn have a positive impact on the services and quality fo teaching and learning in their schools.
We have helped The Norwegian Centre for ICT In Education implement FITS throughout Norway and now they are providing pupils in school with a marketable skill by training them in the FITS service management methodology.
We want to do that here in the UK as well in the future and the online course option will help us greatly to do that.
For any of this to happen we need your help. We have estimated that the intial cost of development of the FITS Practitioner course to be £20,000 and have created this crowdfunding site for people who share our vision to pledge their support for this project.
Your support, however small, will be recognised by being mentioned on the new online training site as a valued sponsor. The more you give the more prominent your profile will be. If you are a company, this will provide valuable marketing exposure for you and search engine optimisation benefits if you have a web presence.
If we are fortunate to become over-funded, the additional funding we receive will be used to wards the next phase which is marketing the new resource to all schools in the UK.
