Hi my name is Emily Costello,
I have set up a crowd funder to raise the money to put on my first solo exhibition.
For the final year of my degree I had the option of producing a dissertation, work placement or a live project. I am producing a live project exhibition that will explore existing multi sensory theories and questions whether natural forms are a sensory stimuli or a counterpart of urban sensory response.
The installation will be made of pallets and inside will be a “living” room of plants. The room will be immersive, using live plants and cut flowers to explore theories of the healing properties of plants and the benefits of being connected with nature.
The exhibition will be interactive and designed to appeal to all ages.
The gallery space I am using is Mother studios located in Hackney Wick- London
I am trying to raise £500 towards the cost of;
-Purchasing the flowers/ plants for the piece
-Gallery space
-Marketing the exhibition, invites poster printing costs etc
-Tools/ equipment and materials needed for building the installation structure
-Smoke machine (part of the installation)
-Transporting the artwork to the gallery
-Arranging a bar for the exhibition opening with drinks and staff
-Printing costs of exhibition catalogue/ zine
