My name is Harriet and I'm a freelance writer and journalist. I've been published by New Statesman, Buzzfeed, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Independent, The Sunday Times, Open Democracy, The Debrief, and VICE. I'm a mental health ambassador for YoungMinds UK and I've written extensively on mental health to help break down the stigma that still surrounds it.
I have a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder and have struggled with my mental health since my early teens. I want to help people understand what BPD is and how it affects the way I live, through a multi-media art series that will eventually be shown as a full exhibition. It will include photography, painting, collage, found objects, and videography, and I hope it will make a positive impact on the way we view a very misunderstood personality disorder.
Your donations will go towards the purchase of art materials and equipment, and any money I receive that's not needed for these things will be donated to Young Minds UK, a non-profit organisation that works tirelessly to educate parents and improve the lives of young people struggling with mental health problems.
