Project aim

Up and coming electronic music label Allowance Records embraces new talented producers from all walks of life to help reach their dreams!

About the project

Allowance Records is an up and coming London based electronic record label showcasing the best in young and talented producers from all walks of life.

After over two years of hard work from our producers and management, we'd really like to take things further. We are looking to improve our business model and give the projects that we run a new lease of life.

We support our producers by having their music professionally mastered and promoted by the best studios and PR companies.

With your help, we can reach our goal of providing our talented musicians and producers with:

1          Studio time

2          Releases via MP3, CD and Vinyl

3          Press, PR and Advertising

As we run on a community based idea, the funding will help us invest in the futures of these talented producers in several ways:

Access to industry standard software and hardware, Education and CPD to build on existing musical and technical knowledge

Our aim is to work one-on-one with each musician and producer over time to help them realise and reach their goals. The music industry is increasingly moving away from raw talent and we aim to give practical, real life training. Standard music education isn't for everyone – we present the opportunity to learn on the job with real releases, network with professional musicians and producers and bring some integrity back to music making by investing in our people.

Allowance Records Works:

We signed Drum and Bass producer Raze two years ago with Allowance Records. By promoting his releases and getting radio play, distribution through iTunes, Beatport and Trackitdown, he has now been featured on 'Drum & Bass Arena, 19 Years of Drum and Bass' on national release, alongside acts such as Pendulum, Chase and Status, Shy FX and many more.

Another example of our work is our charity release, which we did for the National Foundation of Youth Music to help underprivileged youth in the UK get into music. This was a great success and we donate 100% of what the album earns every quarter.

As part of the National Foundation for Youth Music, we also run a 'give a gig' event, offering the chance for an underprivileged teenager the chance to play at a professional music event, 100% of what we made at the event goes directly to the charity.

We are continuing work with the NFYM to maintain a close relationship to launch our next project – individual mentoring to members of the charity. Music making helps develop confidence, decision-making and self-esteem – transferable skills that will stay with young people for life.

The difference with Allowance Records is that we give people with talent a chance. You don't need to come from a rich background, or to have an 'image' We reach out into the community and make music accessible to those most affected by poverty and disadvantage to bring fulfilment and a sense of achievement into their lives.

Allowance Records was once just the dream of Peter O'Shea and Gina Ricci. A label that promotes growth, education, inclusion and brilliant music. In two years we have already achieved so much – but we are ready to take it to the next level.

We need capital to invest in our young people, education, planning, advertising, equipment, and a base.

Thank you for reading and we really hope you will invest in Allowance Records!

Thank you

Pete and Gina
