BWA's call for your support
Bromley Women's Aid needs emergency supplies of bedding, baby formula and nappies for women and children seeking refuge from domestic violence.
It is so simple to back our project and with just a few clicks you could provide vital supplies.
What do we do?
Bromley Women's Aid supports children and women by providing refuge and support to those who have been victims of domestic abuse. We also provide training and education to raise awareness of domestic violence in our community and schools. Our outreach advice and support service supports women and men in the community who want to know what their options are, and would like a non-judgemental listening ear.
Why do we need your backing?
Sometimes children and women come into our refuge with only the clothes on their backs and nothing else. After fleeing from violence they often cannot return to their home for their possessions. It can also take weeks for government benefits to come in, leaving domestic violence victims dependant on our refuge. We are asking for your support in backing this campaign so we can continue to support victims seeking refuge.
Bromley Women's Aid's health and safety policy is to change the duvets and pillows every time we receive a new woman and children into our refuges. BWA also provides nappies and formula for the babies and children we take in.
Local government budgets have been cut and women's refuges are suffering as a result. These small and relatively low-cost supplies means that the women and children who are fleeing from domestic abuse will be well looked after when they turn to Bromley Women's Aid for refuge.
