Project aim

Offering removal of E-waste to businesses and households to help stop e-waste being dumped on poorer nations.

About the project

I am looking for help starting a small business to remove and collect e-waste products from Businesses and households with an objective to have them repurposed or recycled and stop the exportation of e-waste to developing nations.

I've been an active hobbyist of computers and tech for 20 years and have accumulated a large amount of electrical equipment. I knew that that base metals and boards had a value to them so i began a small company Electronic Waste Recovery with the aim to collect more obsolete tech. When I began to look into how e-waste is currently disposed of the shear scope of the e-waste issue became apparent and it overwhelmed me. What started as a small business idea turned into a moral obligation. Thankfully the government have now has legislation in place to help prevent this sort of activity but still millions of tonnes of e-waste still makes it to poorer nations through hundreds of schemes that send old computers and gadgets to developing nations. This however this does not solve the issue as the computers are at the end of their life and after a short amount of use they are simply added to the growing mountain of e-waste.

I want to be part of the solution as the situation is inflicting a horrific human costs on the communities affected by our waste.

Your help will allow me to obtain a WEEE licence and help update my premises so i can start to repurpuse and recycle the waste that I collect. All the e-waste repurpused will have a end on life returns policy and all end of life computers will be fully recycled and disposed of within the UK releasing developing nations from our toxic legacy.

Thank you for you time! Any help will be greatly apreciated.
