Brand new to the city, the Edinburgh City Singers is an all-inclusive singing group that is open to absolutely anybody, regardless of age, experience, or actual singing ability! If someone loves to sing, then we want them at our rehearsals!

Running a community group like this does come with expenses - the main one is the cost of the rehearsal venue each week. Then there's the printing cost for the song sheets, the fee for the pianist, and, finally, those all important hobnobs in the biscuit box each week!

Attendees to the choir do pay a weekly fee of £3, and once we 45 people in attendance each week, we should break even, but until that point we need a little bit of a boost to get us going.

This is why we need your support: any donation, no matter how small, will help us meet our costs and also mean that we don't have to increase the weekly fee for attendees. It's very important that the price to attend does not go any higher - so many choirs charge twice or three times what we do, and this puts people off going to a choir, which is a great shame.

Your support would also mean that we could do a little advertising - nothing flashy, just simply printing some lovely colour copies of our posters and getting them distributed around the city, and maybe taking out one paid advert in the local paper. These simple things will help boost our weekly numbers, and from then on it's all about word of mouth.

And should we reach our weekly attendance goal of 45, any money left over that we raise on here will help towards the cost of our concerts - we'll need a venue, live musicians, equipment and printing (posters and programmes). It all adds up!

Thank you for your help!
