Eddie is a great lad, he left school with limited qualifications but on leaving he applied for an apprenticeship with a local catering business and through hard graft over the 12 months of scheme got a full time job on completion. He doesn't have a lot of money but pays his way and is a positive contributor to every relationship he has, that's family, friends, colleagues and customers.
Eddie decided that he was going to cycle to work to save money and gain a hobby. He purchased a mountain bike through the cycle to work scheme. It was the best bike he'd ever had and was so proud of it....then 5 days after he got it someone stole it from outside work. He's gutted and can't believe it! Now he has to pay for a bike that someone else has taken (and because of the nature of the scheme he has to pay full value) which means he can't afford to get another bike AND to add insult to injury, he has to look at the accessories he got to ensure he rode safely.
I feel this kid needs a break. He's done everything the right way in his life and become a good citizen, whilst others around him have chosen other paths - including the little scrote that decided to just take his bike.
I know there are plenty of causes out there that deserve more m, but this just hits home a but. I just feel that if we could show a tiny bit of solidarity with an honest working lad, help him pay off his debt (he won't 'gain' from this) so he can then purchase another bike it would be a break he needs.
