Duncan is turning 12 this year and has been playing the bagpipes for little over 18 months. He is passionate about the pipes and plays whenever he gets a chance. He's a quick learner and last year won the Seaforth Shield for Junior Piper of the year award and has moved into the Ullapool and District Senior Pipe Band. Duncan asked for a new chanter for Christmas, but when we asked him for more detail we found out that he really wants a set of his own pipes, but was too shy to ask as he knows they are very expensive.
At the moment he rents a set of pipes via the Highland Council which do the job, but they are second hand and quite well worn. The family have discussed this and thought that we would set up a site near to his birthday and Christmas to start a small bagpipe fund. We are hoping to reach £900 which will buy him a set of pipes and protective bag maybe for next year?
Rewards? Well he can play some great tunes, so if you are happy to crowdfund Duncan's pipes I am sure he will give you a tune or two!
