Ruthie Henshall (West End Leading Lady)
"Beth is one of those fabulous actresses that can turn her hand to anything. She can play the vulnerable juve lead and then smash out the villain. She so deserves to take her wonderful talent to our west end stages."
Hello! My name is Beth Amery Poppy Easdown, I'm 19 years old and am an aspiring actress, from Bury St Edmunds Suffolk. I'm hopefully going on to train at one of londons top drama schools in September 2017.
I have recently been granted a place to train at one of the top london drama schools, and while I am completely over the moon with the opportunity, I cannot make this dream a reality unless I can fundraise a sufficient amount to pay for the tuition fees. It has been my dream for as long as I can remember to train at an accredited drama school such as this and become a professional actor; so I am determined to do everything I can to try and make this possible, starting by reaching out to those around me with this crowdfunding page.
I fell in love with performing when I was tiny and haven't looked back since, making it my life long goal to develop my talents and reach my full potential as a performer. I started singing lessons when I was 8 and joined my local stage school where I took acting and musical theatre classes, as well as 'The voice squad' choir; which gave me opportunities such as singing at the Royal Albert Hall and supporting artists such as 'The Magnets' and Kerry Ellis. Locally I have also been involved in Suffolk Young People's Theatre, LMA Stage school, The Irving Stage Company and a number of other choirs and small singing groups such as 'Out of the Shadows' and the A Capella group 'Amado' , which toured Madrid last Easter performing at venues such as The Ritz hotel and a children's hospital.
As I became more serious about pursuing acting as a career, I auditioned for the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, of which I became a member in 2015 after a successful audition and an intensive training course to become part of the prestigious company. Later that year I was scouted and signed to a modelling agency, which lead me on to lots of exciting photographic work as well as being cast to act as the lead in a TV commercial for WIND mobile Italy (which I filmed in Milan last summer).
I am currently in my final year at Conservatoire EAST, West Suffolk College, where I am studying Acting on the level 3 extended diploma in Performance and Production Arts. Since being here I have been cast in many leading roles such as Wendla in 'Spring Awakening The musical', Raymonde in the French farce 'A Flea in her Ear', Billie in 'Our House the Musical', Vera in 'Lilies on the Land' and Bonnie in 'Bonnie and Clyde The Musical', as well as performing as part of the supporting choir for West end stars Ruthie Henshall and Kerry Ellis.

Where will the money go?
I have been lucky enough to have been offered places at some of the top drama schools to study on their intensive one year programmes. However, unfortunately, like many drama schools, it is not a course that is covered by the usual student finance or maintenance loan and so in order to peruse my dream of training at a top drama school I will need to raise enough money to cover the cost of the tuition fees and support the expenses of living in Central London (both accommodation and general living costs).
My top choice, Drama Centre London, has fees set at £13500, however if I am lucky enough to be awarded a bursary or scholarship this could potentially be cut down to £9000. Although this is a lot of money, the training here is exceptional, having trained actors such as Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, Russel Brand, Pierce Brosnan, and Emilia Clarke to name a few! I am hoping that by setting up this Crowd Funding page, as well as other fundraising events and sponsors, I might be that one step closer to achieving my goal of becoming an actress. Gaining a place at a drama school as prestigious as this is extremely difficult and I am so thankful to be 1 of just 20 people to have been offered a place on this course.
Why this so important to me
Performing is such a big part of my life and has got me through some of the most difficult times. As some of you may be aware the last few years have thrown some big challenges in my way, and at times I wasn't sure I would be able to get through them, however through all of my lowest moments, where I was close to giving up , it was my desire and determination to perform that motivated me to carry on! I've put so much into getting to where I am today and would hate for all this hard work to have been in vain.
I know acting is what I am meant to be doing with my life. When I'm on stage I feel like I come alive and can just be myself and lose myself in the role. For me there truly is nothing more I want to do with my life and receiving the correct professional training is the only way I'll make this a reality.
What's in it for you?
As a way of saying thank you for your support I am pledging to offer rewards such complimentary tickets to future shows and performances, as well as this I would be more than happy to keep anyone who contributes updates on how my training at Drama school is going and any performances that I will be appearing in.
Any donations no matter how small will make all the difference and will be be so gratefully appreciated. Moreover, if you know of anyone who may be need of entertainment for upcoming functions or events, or have any other fundraising ideas or opportunities I would grateful to hear them. Thank you for taking the time to read this and supporting my journey to help my dream become a reality.
