How it works

Ideas on Crowdfunder come in all shapes and sizes.

We’re working exclusively with Dorset County Council to help hundreds of innovative ideas in the region get off the ground. #CrowdfundDorset is about proving that you’ve got your community behind you. If your project serves the local community, who in turn support it through crowdfunding, then you could unlock extra funding.

We’re launching #CrowdfundDorset with a funding pot of £200,000 for local projects that give young people places to go and things to do, and helps them do good things for their community. First things first, you’ll need to add your new project to Crowdfunder here. Don't worry though, we’ll help you every step of the way.

Once you’re live and the pledges of support begin to roll in, our friends at Dorset County Council will check you out.

If you tick their boxes, they’ll give you the thumbs up and could add up to 50% of your funding target for projects raising up to £5,000.

By working together as a community, you can play your part in something very special.

Crowdfund Dorset is one way we can put power in the hands of local people to make a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of young people, their families and communities.

We aim to transform this funding into £1million for great youth projects that give young people places to go and things to do or encourage them to be active in their communities. #CrowdfundDorset is a new way of helping local communities make things happen.
