DNDP C.I.C is raising funds to create sustainable employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

The freedom to work in a flexible way can improve a disabled person’s day- to- day life immeasurably; combating depression and promoting self-worth. We help people with disabilities move into sustainable employment that enriches their lives every day. Now is YOUR opportunity to HELP too!

Read three of our employee's stories below and judge for yourself, just how much having meaningful employment transforms the lives of disabled people:

Attending interview after interview, getting nowhere because companies are risk averse to employing people with disabilities, can become soul destroying. Inevitably, you become so disillusioned that you just don't apply for jobs anymore. The system has convinced you that you are unemployable!

  • “Having a disabled boss has greatly facilitated my return, and integration into work. I enjoy interacting with customers, finding new places and getting on with the job. I believe DNDP is more understanding towards disabled employees and that they share my belief, that despite my disability, I can work if given the opportunity.”

I decided to do something about it and started Delivered Next Day Personally C.I.C. on May the 29th 2012. Read our founders story here.

Bridging The Disability Employment Gap

The disability employment gap in the UK currently sits at 32.2 percentage points. This figure has remained virtually static throughout the last decade. Here at DNDP, we like to think we are leading the way when it comes to trying to bridge this gap.

Our flexible business model has enabled us to support over 60 disabled people in the last five years: creating 13 sustainable positions and engaging with around 50 others. Now I know that the business model works, I want to reach out to 100's, maybe even 1000's more.

  • “I have Asperger’s syndrome and found, in the past, that other companies were unwilling to take me on due to my disability. Working at DNDP has encouraged me to take things in life more seriously, try new things and to try my best. I enjoy driving, navigating my way through the streets, and mentoring new employees. Since starting at DNDP, I have also been encouraged to start my own cake decorating business. I have found that the more I do, the better I get!”

Why not get on board with our project; helping us take DNDP to the next level? Becoming self-sufficient would give us the wherewithal to provide even more sustainable life-altering employment opportunities for people with disabilities, people that are predominantly housebound. You can be the drivers of change! So please pledge whatever you can today!

  • “I joined DNDP as a courier driver in 2013; after suffering both depression and a stroke which left me housebound for four and a half years. After much persistence, I was put in touch with Shaw Trust, and they helped facilitate my role with DNDP. I found the flexible and accommodating nature of DNDP to be extremely useful in my return to working life. Work is a transformative power, – I have a purpose again– and my confidence has been given an enormous boost. DNDP focus on ability as opposed to limitation, and I do believe that anything is possible if you really want it. As a result of my increased confidence and self-esteem, I am now the DNDP Driver Manager; looking after a team of 6 individuals. I am now much happier, look forward to the future and I hope to build on my successes so far.”

The journey so far has been a huge learning curve. Having never run a business before I have had to learn all of the fundamentals of business: administration, accounting, governance, health and safety, HR, marketing, to name but a few. Doing so has given me the confidence to take the organization forward to the next stage; launching

The Digital Network for Disabled people, under the DNDP C.I.C umbrella.

The Digital Network For Disabled People

For years, disabled people have been using digital technology as a communication tool, amongst other things; however most do not view this as a valuable saleable skill set. Spotting an opportunity to combine both working with technology and working from home, my team and I went about getting our very own digital agency project up and running.

DNDP.net went live on the 29th of May, five years to the very day its parent company DNDP C.I.C was founded.

We are currently raising working capital to support this project, in the hope that we will become self-sustaining in the years to come. The aim is to engage with people with disabilities, who are predominantly housebound, and in doing so, bridge the existing digital skills gap in Scotland.

DNDP Digital will harness people’s digital capabilities, affording them the opportunity to realise their potential in the world of business. After all, there is no reason why, with the right support in place, they cannot achieve everything in business that others do.

The digital agency currently provides services in the following areas.

  • Web design
  • Analytics
  • Graphic design
  • Digital marketing
  • Content writing
  • IT Coding/ App development
