In 2015, Labour won Sedgefield by just 6,843 votes. I'm standing as the Conservative candidate to turn Sedgefield Blue again!
Sedgefield gained prominence as the seat of the former Prime Minister, Tony Blair, when Labour had a majority of over 20,000. Since Blair's successor took office, the Labour majority has been decreasing. With pollsters indicating public opinion is moving in our favour, June 8th presents a great opportunity for the Conservative Party to make a gain in one of the most prominent Labour-held seats in the country.
Let us be clear. This will not be an easy campaign. We are prepared for the hard work: the long days, the aching legs, and the grumbling stomachs as we miss another meal time to catch another dozen voters on the doorstep. However, as well as the time and dedication of lots of willing volunteers, it's going to take resources in the form of boxes upon boxes of leaflets, canvass cards, posters, and more to overturn the Labour majority - and all of that costs a hefty sum.
I'm asking for your support to help fund this campaign to give the people of Sedgefield a Conservative Member of Parliament for the first time since 1935, and to help strengthen the Prime Minister's hand round the negotiating table on Brexit.
Thank you, in advance, for your support!
