Dharma Action Network for Climate Engagement (DANCE) is a space for connecting to explore the breadth of possible Dharma responses to climate change and related issues.
DANCE in action
For the 21st time since the UN climate talks began, world leaders will be gathering, this time in Paris, to negotiate agreements for a safe and liveable planet.
It is widely accepted that the proposals put forward this year will not keep us beneath the 2 Celsius limit, and since the first set of talks carbon emissions have risen by 60%.
This year, in a landmark consensus, over 140 different faith groups, unions, NGOs and grassroots collectives are calling for action from the people - both in Paris and beyond - action that shows that we are nature defending, sustaining and protecting itself
29th November, on the eve of the beginning of the Paris climate talks people around the world will be taking to the streets to show their love for the planet, and their solidarity as a globally conscious and connected movement at this pivotal time.
Members of DANCE will be involved in the wave of creative action before, during and after the talks in Paris.
Let us make our voices heard in this galvanising moment in history with thousands around the globe acknowledging we are the ones we’ve been waiting for!
To make this possible DANCE needs your support.
Prior to the London Climate March members of DANCE will be joining Buddhist monks, mindful warriors and spiritual activists at the British Museum, where a purification ritual will be performed encouraging the museum to drop it’s sponsorship relationship with BP.

To increase the impact of our action we would like, as all our previous actions, to film the event.
We are in contact with a couple of experienced filmmakers and we need £450 to cover their costs that will include filming and editing.
Prior to joining the Climate March in London we will sit together in meditation as an opportunity for people from all walks of life to come together as a supportive community and express peacefully and in silence their deep care and love for this world and their concern about the ongoing devastation of that which supports life.
This year we would like to make some more banners and we will need £150 for materials and acrylic paint.
All the DANCE banners will be taken to the Mass Mobilisation and Day of Action in Paris, December 12th we’re planning to join.

When the talks wrap up we have to make sure the people — not the politicians — have the last word.
