Project Aims
Our 11 year old boys football team has no tracksuit or training kit to keep them warm during the coming winter season.
About the project
We are two dads who volunteer our time to help thirteen young boys play the game they love at a grass roots level. The boys parents (including us) pay a fee to cover the cost of a team match kit, venue hire for league matches and half a pitch to train on one night a week, can't afford the whole pitch so we share with another team. The boys really need winter tracksuit and kits to train in during the winter months but we can't afford to buy what they need. For about £700 we can help these boys stay together, play together and feel part of the team that they have been a part of since they were very young.
Two years ago we formed a Tooting & Mitchem under10s football team. In our first season we came runners up in the top A division of the Tandridge league made up of six divisions. We repeated that challenge last season and again came second in a very competitive league. but when I watch the boys shiver and shake during the winter training and when they turn up at matches I feel sorry for them and us.
For £700 we can change that, we can get them each a tracksuit and training kit. It will do more than keep them warm, it will make them feel a part of something they've worked so hard at. I hope you can help us.
