Cymru i Calais

Raising funds to transport donated goods from North West Wales to Calais.

New stretch target

Bydd unrhyw arian a gaiff ei gasglu sdd ddim ei angen ar gyfer tripiau i Calais yn cael ei rannu rhwng elusennau sydd yn gweithio yn 'y jungle' ar y funud, megis L'Auberge des Migrants (http://www.laubergedesmigrants.fr) a Medicine du Monde (http://www.doctorsoftheworld.org.uk/pages/calais-appeal).  Mae'n bosib, os oes ymateb sylweddol, y bydd arian hefyd yn cael eu rannu gyda elusennau sydd yn ceisio atal boddi yn y Mediterranean.

Any money raised above and beyong what is required to run trips will be split between organisations working in Calais at grassroots level.  These may include organisations such as "L'Auberge des Mingrants (http://www.laubergedesmigrants.fr) and Medicine du Monde (http://www.doctorsoftheworld.org.uk/pages/calais-appeal).  It is possible, should there be a significant response, that some funds will also be diverted towards organisations currently trying to prevent drownings in the mediterranean.

Hoffwn ddiolch yn enfawr i bawb sydd wedi cyfrannu tuag at y dudalen hyd yn hyn. Mae’r ymateb yn syfrdanol! Hoffwn nawr gadarnhau ein bod yn sicr bod yr ymateb yn ddigon cryf i ni allu cyfrannu tuag at waith yn y Med yn ogystal â Calais. Dyma'r ffyrdd yr ydym yn bwriadu rhannu'r arian:

1. Rhedeg tripiau i Calais cyn hired ag y gallwn, cyn hired fod yr angen yno.

2. Cefnogi elusennau sydd yn gweithio yn uniongyrchol a'r rhai mewn angen yn Calais.

3. Pacio a phostio cyfraniadau i gampfeydd ffoaduriaid mewn safleoedd eraill, megis Kos a de Ewrop, neu i gael nwyddau i grwpiau eraill sydd yn mynd yno.

4. Cefnogi elusennau sydd yn gweithio yn y Med, yn enwedig rhai sydd yn ceisio atal boddi.

Serch y cyfanswm syfrdanol, tydi’r ymgyrch ddim ar gau tan y 1af o Hydref. Yr uwch di'r cyfanswm y mwyaf gallwn ei roi. Diolch eto. Gwelwch yr wybodaeth wreiddiol isod:

***

We would like to thank everyone who has supported the page so far, the response has been overwhelming!  We would now like to confirm that we are now certain that the response has been strong enough to allow us to offer support to refugees in the Med as well as Calais.  This is how we plan to split the resources:

1. To run trips with physical donations from North Wales to Calais for as long as we can, and for as long as they are needed.

2. To make donations to organisations working at grassroots level in Calais

3. To pay for packing of items received for sending to camps further afield eg. In the Mediterranean or for getting items to organisations who need them there.

4. To donate funds to organisations working directly with refugees in the Mediterranean, particularly those tring to prevent drownings.

Even though the amount raised so far is totally mind-blowing, the campaign runs until the 1st October.  The higher to total the more we can give.  Thank you again.  Original campaign information below:

Project aim

Raising funds to transport donated goods from North West Wales to Calais

About the project

Yn ol y Red Cross mae tua 21.3 miliwn o ffoaduriaid dros y byd yn ceisio osgoi creulondeb ac erchylltra rhyfel. Mae’n amhosib dychmygu sut mae nhw’n teimlo! Mae tua 3,000 o bobol wedi cyraedd Calais. Yn bell o adra, heb ddim i’w henw, dim dillad, sgidia, lloches, gwely- ma’r bobol ma’n gorfod byw o dan amodau anobeithiol.

Mae trigolion Gogledd Orllewin Cymru  wedi bod yn cyfrannu’n hael, yn rhannu pebyll, blancedi a dillad cynnes i helpu’r ffoaduriaid. Mae yna ddau daith i Calais wedi eu cadarnhau (un ar benwythnos 12/13 o Fedi a’r llall mewn pythefnos wedyn) gyda mwy o dripiau ar y gweill.

Nod y dudalen hwn ydy casglu digon i ariannu o leiaf tri trip i Calais.  Mi fydd costau bob taith i Calais oddeutu £200. Ma’r Eurotunnel yn £50-£80 a petrol yn tua £120. Bydd unrhyw arian dros ben yn cael ei roi i elusennau sydd yn gweithio'n uniongyrchol a ffoaduriaid yn calais, megis L'Auberge des Migrants a Medicine du Monde.

Ma’n anodd deud sut yn union bydd modd gweld gwhaniaeth uniongyrchol o'ch rhodd. Ma hwn yn argyfwng difrifol, sydd i weld yn mynd yn waeth ac yn waeth. Mae plant bach a pobol y byd yn dioddef, ac yn gofyn am ein help ni. Y petha bach fedrwn ni neud i helpu argyfwng mor enfawr yw rhoi! Rhoi pabell, rhoi blanced, rhoi cot gynnes- mae o’n siwr o helpu i leddfu poen rhywun am noson siawns. Mae’n bwysig dangos fod rhywun yn rwla yn pryderu ac isho dangos caredigrwydd a chydymdeimlad.

The British Red Cross estimate that there are currently around 21.3 million refugees worldwide, all of them feeling unimaginable horrors and atrocities in their home countries. Around 3,000 of them have made it to Calais. They often arrive without adequate, clothing, shoes, bedding or shelter and are met with 'the jungle'; a makeshift camp where the conditions qualify the name.

Individuals in and around North West Wales have kindly been donating items such as tents, bedding and warm clothing to help these refugees, and two trips to Calais have been confirmed (one on the weekend of the 12/13 Sept and the next the weekend after). There are also further trips in the pipeline, as yet unconfirmed

It is estimated that each trip will cost around £200. Between £50 and £80 of that is needed for the ferry/Eurotunnel, with petrol costs of around £120. We are looking to raise enough to cover at least three trips. Any surplus raised will be shared between organisations such as L'Auberge des Migrants and Medicine du Monde who are working tirelessly in 'the jungle' every day.

In many ways it is unlikely people will actively see a difference from their donation. This is a serious ongoing problem and there is no clear end in sight. But for each blanket or tent that makes it over to Calais, the likelihood is that someone who has experienced extreme hardship, will not only have some warmth at night, but will also at least know that somebody somewhere cares.
