Cosmic Academy is a small local school in a developing suburb of Accra, the capital city of Ghana. The school takes children from a preschool age (2 years) up to age 14+. I have been visiting Cosmic for the last 5 years. The scool is run by its untiring headmistress Jayaliila ('Madame' to the children of Cosmic). Her dedication to the school, its children and their education has been an inspiration to me and to all others who have visited the school.
However, day to day operations in the school have been affected by its lack of funds. This has been an increasing issue in recent years and affects such basics as staff salaries and the purchase of resources (books, paper, pencils, etc).
While I arrange sponsorship to cover the school and food costs of a number of children at Cosmic, something needs to be done now to allow Jayaliila to continue her work for the children of Cosmic.
Any funds raised will go straight to the school's headmistress, to be used for a number of vital developments in the growth of Cosmic Academy, and for the benefit of all its students.
