Project aim
We aim to host a major free-to-attend event for the people of Crewe, embracing traditions of old whilst providing a new and exciting day out.
The video shows our first event last year Picnic in the Park which was very well received and was a great success.
About the project
Creative Crewe was formed as the culmination of 10 years of encouraging and supporting local artists by Carol Wilkinson of The Cubby hole in Crewe. This came to the notice of the Local area Partnership of Cheshire East Council and it was suggested this should be developed into a Community group. So in 2014 CREATIVE CREWE was founded. The group is made up of a committee of individuals, all with a love of art and creativity and our aim is to develop and organise a programme of creative events and activities that promotes a sense of health and wellbeing in our multi-cultural community.
Why are we Crowdfunding
Entering our second year we are now working closely with Crewe Town Council to put on a variety of art and leisure activities. We are a totally Non-profit making organisation and where possible we try to make our events free to the public so making them available to as many people as possible.
In August we will be putting on our most ambitious project yet. The Family Fit and Fun Day in Queens Park Crewe. We have managed to secure a fantastic line up of participants and entertainment but this obviously comes at a price.
The day will see the first Crewe Horticultural Show take place with prizes for vegetable showing and cake baking. There will be a fit zone, with boot camp keep fit trials, archery and other activities. A family zone and a fun zone will host all the other days events.
The hope is that this Crowdfunding will add to the funds we have already raised through other events and grants to make it the biggest day’s entertainment seen in Crewe since the demise of the old Carnival.
