Are you concerned about climate change and cuts to public services?
The County Council is responsible for delivery of social services, public health, transport planning and education. There are 57 councillors on Worcestershire County Council, 32 of them being Conservative with the rest being a mixture of other opposition parties including 2 existing Green Councillors Matthew Jenkins (St Stephen in Worcester) and John Raine (a division in Malvern). It would not take much to tip the County into no overall control and if this were to happen in May 2017 rest assured we will use our influence to make big changes.
Our style of campaigning requires a great deal of knocking on doors to talk and listen to residents as well as many repeated cycles of leaflets delivered. As Greens we have to campaign extremely hard to win. Last year we used our high impact focused campaigning methods and we managed to get our 2nd City Council seat in Battenhall and pushed the council from Conservative into no overall control.
In Worcester we are defending Matt Jenkins seat in St Stephen and hoping to win a new seat for Jane Moorhouse in the St Peter's area. We need your support for door knocking and leaflet delivery and / or money for leaflets. We don't get any money for our campaigns from national Green Party so we are totally reliant on the generosity of local members, supporters and well wishers who want to see a different style of politics.
Please pledge what ever money you can. £20 would make a fantastic difference. But please give what you can afford beit £5 or £50 - every penny will be invested in the campaign to get two County Councillors in Worcester.
